About JSM College, Phusro

Jhabbu Singh Memorial College was established in 1980 by a great Philanthropist, Late Kailash Singh for providing higher education to the girl students in the Sub-Division of Bermo. The idea to establish a women’s College in Phusro stemmed from the fact that the girls did not have any educational facility in a radius of 40 Kms, because of which, very few girl students were able to pursue higher education. This left a larger section of the aspiring girls with no option but to abandon their desire for further studies. Hence Late Kailash Singh constructed a women’s College entirely with his own fund on the name of his late Uncle Jhabbu Singh in Phusro. On 30th September 1980, the newly constructed building was inaugurated. Since then the college has been continually providing higher education to thousands of girls in this area.
